Gay Korea

The cultural heritage of Korea is richly influenced thru gay people. Arts, crafts and literature are meaningful and also are popular modern gay singers and actors are well known.
Due to many efforts from gay liberation groups and human rights organisations, homosexuality is not recognized as an “illness” anymore. Living usually “undercover”, open gay life does only exist in larger cities, i.e. around Seoul’s homo hill and some popular beach resorts.
Cruising bathhouses is often more popular then visiting bars. Korean gays are often looking more towards long-term relationships rather than quick encounters.
