At many countries cash dispensing machines (ATM) are often accepting your bank or credit cards (Check for logo Cirrus, Maestro, Mastercard, VISA, Amex). Using bank cards usually is the preferrable method while credit cards can be more expensive. Do not expect cash dispending machines in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar.

Alternatively having some traveller checks is advisable; althrough not at any time ATM do provid sufficiant money (i.e. before or during special festive or on pay days.)

Using bank smaller notes valueing 5, 10, 20, or max. 50 each either US-Dollar or Euro's is very usefull as well. Larger bank notes are only accepted at some local banks.

Especially in border regions of countries the neigbourung currency is welcome as well; i.e. paying in Cambodia, Laos or Myanmar are accepting Thai Bath. Change are usually iven in local currency. It is not wise to try this in Thailand, except while using US-Dollar or Euro.

Generally: At any capital city or major tourist destination international printed papers and mags are often availible. If you can't find any in stores, ask you receptionist. Fredom of press divers in ASIA as everywhere in the world: Sometimes officially censored but more indirectly controlled you might to learn about reading between lines. Locally at many ASIAN countries are newspapers and magazines in english languages, at major tourist destination even more languages availivile. Please note that many of this kind of newspapers are neither being written by professional journalists nor objective information is provided.

Internet access is often limited for technical reasons but also by controlling users thru security forces. Not every web pages is availible everywhere. To esure getting your email please it is advisible neiter to express critics regarding the country to openly nor getting on homepages with suspicios content (i.e. using words like sex, gay, homo etc.). If sometimes content are not allowed, the line sometimes will be corrupted and shot down for some time.Of yourse, your counter is running yn you are paying for non-service.
